Team Bailey

On Saturday, Nov. 20th, a crew of us got together and sorted the BIG Scentsy fundraiser order for Team Bailey. Thanks to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for hosting the site we could unpack all the boxes at!

There were lots of paper and boxes to entertain the kids while we worked and WOW!!! Did that room smell awesome!!!

Meet Bailey

Bailey is a 10 year old girl, who was born with Osteopetrosis, which means brittle bones. She has broken over 37 bones and had quite a few major surgeries. In the fall of 2009, her doctors suggested that a bone marrow transplant would hopefully help cure her of this disease. In May of 2010, she began her journey of courage at Riley's Children's Hospital in Indiana.

In February of 2011, she returned home to begin her time of recovery. Now, it is 2012, and she is in 5th grade and doing great! She hasn't even broken a bone at all! What a blessing and miracle! God is amazing!!!

How did Team Bailey get started? It all began with a friendship between my daughter, Gabbie and Bailey. These two little girls just love being together. They love to laugh, giggle and dance to music-especially Justin Beiber! Through their friendship I learned about Bailey's bone marrow transplant and how she could not return home after the procedure. During a 'good luck' send off party for Bailey, Connie Doty and I began talking about Bailey's family's situation and thought, 'let's build a house for them.' We knew that our community was a wonderful one, so we started contacting businesses to be a part of this heart-moving project and we had an overwhelming response, and knew it was going to happen! After getting many businesses on board, we shared our idea with the public, and the love of Team Bailey began!!
